ICU care supports the most vulnerable rhinos during the earliest and most critical stage of recovery. This often includes veterinary intervention, medical supplies and medications, specialist nutrition, fluid therapy, intensive monitoring and care, and round-the-clock attention from a highly trained team.
You can fund the full monthly amount or contribute any amount towards ICU care.

Rhino protection depends on trained people, trusted animals, field equipment, security operations and daily presence on the ground. Anti-poaching support helps protect rhinos in Care for Wild’s care and those already returned to protected wild spaces.

Empowering communities and supporting B-BBEE transformation
Your support is more than a donation. It is a direct investment in conservation, community upliftment, job creation, skills development and sustainable livelihoods.
Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary is a B-BBEE Level 1 Broad-Based Black Socio-Economic Development Contributor, with a beneficiary base greater than 75% and 100% recognition for B-BBEE Socio-Economic Development purposes, subject to the terms and validity of the relevant B-BBEE documentation.
For South African corporate partners, this means that support for Care for Wild can contribute to meaningful conservation impact while also aligning with corporate transformation, socio-economic development and ESG objectives. Contributions may qualify for B-BBEE Socio-Economic Development recognition where they support eligible previously disadvantaged beneficiary communities, in line with the applicable B-BBEE Codes and verification requirements.
Section 18A tax benefits and compliance
Care for Wild may issue Section 18A tax certificates for qualifying donations, where applicable. This enables eligible South African donors to claim a deduction from taxable income, subject to the requirements and limitations of Section 18A of the Income Tax Act and SARS rules.
SARS confirms that only approved Section 18A organisations may issue Section 18A receipts, and that the approval reference must appear on such receipts. SARS guidance also confirms that the allowable deduction is generally limited to 10% of taxable income, with excess amounts subject to the applicable carry-forward rules.
